Welcome to the AIT class page of Lenora Giles

I began taking coursework in Masters of Distance Education Program (MDE) at the University of Maryland, University College for elective credit in spring 2001. I liked the fully online classroom experience and content of the degree program so much that I decided to complete the master's degree. I am now enrolled in the Information Arts and Technology (AIT) certificate program at the University of Baltimore.   Distance education, supported by new information and communication technology, is an opportunity for many marginalized individuals to obtain formal education and is enhanced by design that focuses on the needs of the learner rather than the needs of  technology or the institution. institution.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Please link to my Distance Education work which was written between 2001 and 2004. It is amazing how much technology and methodology have advanced since then. Some information is still applicable so have a read and see what you think.  I will be adding information and work from the DE program and the IAT program as the semester moves forward.
